Howe named GCU Director of Sports Medicine – Grand Canyon University Athletics
Grand Canyon Athletics has named Brady Howe as its Director of Sports Medicine after serving the past six years as the Phoenix Suns’ Vice President of Health and Performance.
Howe’s extensive experience in athletics includes 10 years in the NBA and G League, as well as previous careers in sports and independent baseball.
“Medical care for our student-athletes will continue to be one of our top priorities,” said Nick Ojea, Assistant Vice President for Athletics and Assistant Director of Athletics. of GCU. “We are fortunate that GCU’s national brand helped attract a highly qualified candidate to Brady. Howe most recently served as the VP of Health and Performance for the Phoenix Suns, where he spent six years in that role after joining the NBA franchise in 2018 as the strength and conditioning coach. and assistant athletic trainer positions. Howe oversaw the integration of the medical and performance departments and coordinated care provided for Suns players.

Prior to Day, Howe was the assistant athletic trainer and assistant strength coach for the NBA’s Atlanta Hawks during the 2017-18 season.
From 2014-17, Howe was the Director of Health and Operations for the Salt Lake Stars, the Utah Jazz’s G League affiliate, where he spent time in Boise, Idaho and Salt Lake City. He was an assistant athletic trainer and assistant strength coach for the Utah Jazz during the NBA Summer League.

Howe’s collegiate experience includes four years (2011-14) as an athletic trainer and strength coach at his alma mater, Weber State, where he worked with the men’s soccer and basketball teams. Howe also worked for the Ogden Raptors baseball team and the Utah Flash, a former NBA Development League team from 2009-11.

Howe graduated from Weber State in 2008 with a degree in medical athletic training. He received a master’s degree in sports performance and conditioning from Southern Utah in 2013 and another master’s degree in theoretical psychology from National this year.
